The hosts of Fox & Friends were caught off guard Tuesday morning when President Trump turned a serious interview into a lighthearted detour about Sean Hannity’s romance with co-host Ainsley Earhardt.
He had a good time ribbing Earhardt before eventually pivoting back to foreign policy and declaring Ukraine must cede land to Russia if peace is to be achieved.
Earhardt, joined by Lawrence B. Jones and Charles Hurt, had been leading the program when Trump called in from Washington, D.C.
The conversation began with his remarks on revitalizing the nation’s capital but quickly swerved into unexpected territory.

“I’ve made Washington, DC, a— just an incredible place in four days,” Trump said, pointing to bustling restaurants that had been shuttered under previous leadership.
“There’s a guy named Sean Hannity — he might take a very lovely young lady he knows very, very well to dinner in Washington, and they don’t have to — and she’s sitting right next to you by the way,” Trump trolled
Earhardt laughed and rolled her eyes as the president continued. “I don’t want to get him in trouble, so we better explain exactly. We don’t want any secrets here,” he joked.

“That is the greatest relationship,” Trump added. “I hope I’m not breaking any news.”
Jones attempted to redirect the discussion, but Trump pressed on. “This could be the biggest — most important thing I’ve said,” he teased, praising both Earhardt and Hannity as “great people.”

“When they go out to dinner, I don’t want to see them get mugged. Now they can go out, they can hold hands, they can walk down the street, they’re both superstars,” he added, before speculating with a grin about which of the two earns more money.
“I want to know who is making more money,” he posited. She has to be making a lot.”
While the lighthearted banter drew laughs, Jones worked to pull the president back to pressing issues.

“Mr. President. We’re so happy. But on a serious note, when you have those world leaders, this is a topic of conversation for the whole world,” Jones pivoted.
That shift opened the door to more serious matters. Trump detailed his Monday conference at the White House with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and multiple European leaders, signaling that peace negotiations would require Ukraine to make territorial concessions.
“This is a war, and Russia is a powerful military nation, whether people like it or not,” Trump stated. “It’s a powerful nation. It’s a much bigger nation.”
He made clear that American troops would not be sent to Ukraine’s border.
“You have my assurance,” Trump told the hosts. “I’m just trying to stop people from being killed.”
This is a deeply spiritual moment from a president that we rarely see.
Trump expressed to Fox and Friends how his desire to end wars and create world peace stems from his desire to get to Heaven in the afterlife.

“They’re losing 5,000 to 7,000 people a week in that ridiculous war that should have never happened. If we had a normal president — not even a great president — if we had normal president, it wouldn’t have happened,” he noted.
Trump suggested U.S. assistance could come in the form of air support. “They are, they’re very good people, they are very good leaders of their country and they want to lead their country,” he said of European allies.
He noted that Europe was more “consumed” with the conflict than the United States, because of their close proximity.
“We have an ocean separating us, a thing called an ocean,” he noted. “A big, beautiful ocean. They don’t. They are right there.”
“When it comes to security, they are willing to put people on the ground,” he continued.
“We’re willing to help them with things, especially, probably if you talk about by air because nobody has stuff we have, really they don’t have.”
The president said his plan includes letting Russian President Vladimir Putin and Zelenskyy meet face-to-face before getting involved again.
“They haven’t exactly been best friends,” Trump noted. “Maybe they’re getting along a little bit better than I thought. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have set up the two [of them] meeting, I would have set up a [trilateral meeting].”
On NATO, Trump stood firm: Ukraine will not be admitted. Still, he said some European countries have agreed to give the besieged country NATO-like protections, which would included security guarantees.
He drew a sharp contrast between the Ukraine-Russia conflict and his own record.
“I’ve solved seven wars, we ended seven wars,” he remarked. “I thought this would be one of the easier ones, and this has turned out to be the toughest one.”

The president highlighted his Monday White House meeting with Zelenskyy and European leaders, noting that they discussed potential security guarantees coordinated between Europe and the United States.
Posting later on Truth Social, Trump wrote: “During the meeting we discussed Security Guarantees for Ukraine, which Guarantees would be provided by the various European Countries, with a coordination with the United States of America. Everyone is very happy about the possibility of PEACE for Russia/Ukraine.”
Trump reminded viewers that he had already engaged directly with Putin, first in Alaska and again following the Zelenskyy meeting, in order to push forward a peace process he believes could end the war.

Before signing off, Trump couldn’t resist one more light-hearted comment about Hannity and Earhardt.
“Great couple, I will say it,” Trump noted. “It’s a great couple. Have a good time everybody.”
