Trump supporting musician Kid Rock crudely stuck it to California Gov. Gavin Newsom, after his press office attempted to mock him online.
The governor’s team posted an AI-generated image of the musician dressed up as Uncle Sam, with a message encouraging Americans to rally behind Newsom.
The doctored photo, shared August 17, read: “Kid Rock wants you to support Gavin Newsom.”
The caption from Newsom’s press office read simply: “I accept.”

Newsom then piled on with his own follow-up post, sarcastically adding: “Thanks, Kid Rock.”
But Kid Rock fired back on his account with his own biting response. “The only support Gavin Newscum will ever get out of me is from DEEZ NUTZ,” the singer shot back.
The Detroit rocker has been a longtime ally of President Donald Trump. Earlier this year, Kid Rock joined the president in the Oval Office for the signing of an executive order aimed at curbing ticket scalping.

The musician made headlines by showing up in a flashy stars-and-stripes suit.
He has also lent his musical talent to Republican causes. At last year’s GOP convention, Kid Rock performed his 2000 anthem “American Bad Ass” with lyrics switched up to honor Trump.

Newsom’s press shop has recently tried to copy Trump’s signature Truth Social style on X.
Their posts now appear in all caps and end with “GCN” — mirroring the way Trump often closes with “DJT.”
One widely circulated image from the governor’s office showed Kid Rock, Tucker Carlson, and the late wrestler Hulk Hogan surrounding Newsom with hands on his shoulders.

Hogan, who recently died, was given angel wings and a halo, with the mocking caption: “so nice!”
Then came another string of posts Tuesday. One read: “I HATE KID ROCK!!! — GCN.”
Hours later, another jab followed: “HAS ANYONE NOTICED THAT SINCE I SAID ‘I HATE KID ROCK’ HE’S NO LONGER ‘HOT?’”

The style bore a striking resemblance to Trump’s social media hits against Taylor Swift.
In September, Trump posted: “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT” after the pop star endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris.
Trump also mocked Swift’s popularity in May, writing: “Has anyone noticed that, since I said ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,’ she’s no longer ‘HOT?’”

Just this month, Trump revisited the topic while comparing Swift to actress Sydney Sweeney.
“Sydney Sweeney, a registered Republican, has the ‘HOTTEST’ ad out there,” Trump wrote of her American Eagle jeans campaign.
“Or just look at Woke singer Taylor Swift… She was booed out of the Super Bowl and became, NO LONGER HOT.”
Donald Trump says that his posts are the reason that “woke singer” Taylor Swift is “no longer hot”:

Vice President JD Vance weighed in on Fox News, blasting Newsom for imitating Trump’s voice online.
“This idea that Gavin Newsom is somehow going to mimic Donald Trump’s style — I think that ignores the fundamental genius of President Trump’s political success,” Vance said during an appearance on “The Ingraham Angle.”
He pointed out that Trump’s tone resonates because it’s authentic.
“He just is who he is,” Vance said, warning Democrats that trying to fake Trump’s personality would backfire.

When host Laura Ingraham noted Democrats were still picking apart their 2024 election loss and urging leaders to act “tougher” like Trump, Vance didn’t mince words.
“Look, the autopsy for the Democrats — some free political advice from the president of the United States — is stop sounding like crazy people,” Vance said.
“That really is all it is. You’ve got to be yourself… Don’t be a crazy person. Be authentic.”
Newsom’s trolling campaign didn’t stop with Kid Rock. His account lashed out at conservative media, posting: “FOX HATES THAT I AM AMERICA’S MOST FAVORITE GOVERNOR (‘RATINGS KING’) SAVING AMERICA.”
Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., tried to spin Newsom’s online antics as clever political theater.
“It’s a teaching moment,” Swalwell told CNN “News Central.” “He’s mirroring and reflecting what Donald Trump is doing, so to ask the country, ‘Is this who you want as your leader, somebody who debases us and reduces the dialogue?’ And yes, I mean, it’s silly, it’s cheeky, but it also is going on offense.”

The move drew mockery from the White House with spokesperson Abigail Jackson ridiculing Swalwell’s defense of Newsom.
“You know you’re screwed when Fang Fang’s ex-lover – who proudly posts videos of himself struggling to bench 50lbs – endorses your social media strategy,” she shot back.
