Bad Bunny used a Grammy Awards victory speech to blast ICE just days before President Trump’s agents are expected to flood the Bay Area ahead of the Super Bowl.
The reggaeton superstar took the stage Sunday night to accept best música urbana album and immediately turned the moment political.
“Before I say thanks to god, I’m going to say, ICE Out. We are not savage. We are not animals. We are not aliens. We are humans, and we are Americans,” Bad Bunny told the crowd.
The speech landed less than a week before the singer is set to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.
Bad Bunny says "ICE OUT" at the #Grammys and receives a massive standing ovation:

The Super Bowl matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots is already under intense security scrutiny as the Trump administration signals a major federal presence.
ICE agents are expected in the Bay Area ahead of the game as part of broader homeland security operations tied to the event.
Bad Bunny leaned further into his message, framing immigration enforcement as fueled by hostility rather than law.
As if the Super Bowl halftime show couldn’t get any worse, Bad Bunny is planning on wearing a dress to “honor queers” 🤦🏼♂️
If you weren’t planning already, you should boycott the halftime show.

“The hate gets more powerful with more hate. The only thing that is more powerful than hate is love,” he told viewers watching the broadcast.
“So, please, we need to be different. If we fight, we have to do it with love,” he continued during the live ceremony.
The artist stressed unity while rejecting enforcement language that has dominated the national debate.
“We don’t hate them, we love our people, we love our family, and that’s the way to do it, with love,” he added.
The timing immediately tied the Grammys moment to the upcoming Super Bowl, where federal enforcement has become part of the storyline.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has publicly warned that federal agents will be out in force around the event.
“We’ll be all over that place,” Noem previously vowed while discussing Super Bowl security operations.
Noem also urged people to avoid the game unless they meet her standard of compliance and patriotism.
“Unless they are law-abiding Americans who love this country,” she said, adding again, “We’ll be all over that place… we’re gonna enforce the law.”
A Department of Homeland Security official attempted to temper concerns earlier this week.
“Those who are here legally and are not breaking other laws have nothing to fear,” DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin warned.
“DHS is committed to working with our local and federal partners to ensure the Super Bowl is safe for everyone involved, as we do with every major sporting event, including the World Cup,” McLaughlin said.
Local officials have not all embraced the federal posture, setting up a visible split ahead of kickoff.
Santa Clara County Sheriff Bob Jonsen announced his department will not assist ICE operations tied to the event.
🚨 VENEZUELAN DICTATOR NICOLAS MADURO IN U.S. CUSTODY 🚨 Do you AGREE Trump made America STRONG again??? ➡️➡️➡️ TAKE THE FREEDOM POLL NOW and stand with President Trump!!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
“We will not be working or supporting ICE Immigration Enforcement,” Jonsen told reporters during a Thursday press conference.
Jonsen urged federal agencies to communicate clearly if operations are planned in the area.
“I urge our federal partners, if there’s something that you’re planning to do in our community, please, please be transparent and reach out to your local officials so we can work as best we can,” he said.
The sheriff sought to calm fans worried about enforcement encounters around the stadium.
“If you see us out there, we’re there to help you and we will be there,” Jonsen told residents.

“Don’t hesitate to contact someone wearing a uniform as these events unfold if they’re walking around trying to engage and make sure you remain safe,” he added.
Jonsen explained what fans should expect when arriving for the game.
“So, as you’re getting off those trains [or] those buses… [there is a] high probability you’re going to see somebody in uniform,” he said.
He offered specific guidance on identifying local law enforcement.
“But if they’re not masked, if they’re wearing tan and green or blue or black, trust me, they’re there for your protection. They are there for your protection.”
Despite the heated rhetoric, reports Thursday claimed ICE does not plan enforcement actions at Levi’s Stadium or NFL sponsored events.
President Trump weighs in on cross-dressing, anti-America Super Bowl halftime performer Bad Bunny:
"I never heard of him, I don't know who he is, I don't know why they're doing it. It's, like, crazy, and then they blame it on some promoter that they hired to pick up… pic.twitter.com/bzsZhomXo8

President Trump has previously questioned the NFL’s decision to tap Bad Bunny for the halftime spotlight.
“I don’t know who he is. I don’t know why they’re doing it. It’s like, crazy,” Trump said in October.
Bad Bunny has long voiced concerns about immigration enforcement surrounding his shows.
Last year, he declined to tour in the mainland United States, citing fears of ICE activity near concert venues.
“There were many reasons why I didn’t show up in the U.S., and none of them were out of hate — I’ve performed there many times,” he said in a September interview.
“But there was the issue of — like, f**k ing ICE could be outside,” he added.
The Grammys ceremony featured multiple artists using the stage to attack ICE and the Trump administration.
Pop star Billie Eilish turned her Song of the Year acceptance into a protest moment.
Wearing an “ICE Out” pin, Eilish spoke directly to the crowd about activism.

“It’s really hard to know what to say and what to do right now. We need to keep speaking up and keep protesting. Our voices really do matter and the people matter,” she said.
She closed with a blunt message that drew loud applause inside Crypto.com Arena.
“And f**k ICE. That’s all I’m going to say. Sorry. Thank you so much.”
Other celebrities, including Justin Bieber, Kehlani and Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon, also wore the “ICE Out” pin.
The show’s political tone extended beyond immigration as host Trevor Noah mocked supporters of President Trump. Noah quipped to the crowd, “Nicki Minaj is not here.”
Trevor Noah just made a BIG MISTAKE making fun of Queen of Rap @NICKIMINAJ & President Trump.
Nicki just vowed to expose the Democrats and Hollywood for “sacrificing children as a way of gaining & maintaining power.”

“She is still at the White House with Donald Trump discussing very important issues,” he added during the monologue.
Noah also mimicked the president for laughs. “Actually Nicki, I have the biggest ass. I have it,” Noah joked, adopting Trump’s voice.
“I know they say it’s you, but it’s me,” he added.
Minaj recently praised Trump during a visit to Washington. “The hate or what people have to say, it does not affect me at all,” she said while defending her support.
She clapped back at Noah with an allegation that he and rapper Jay-Z were romantically involved.

“Trevor refuses to come out the closet when everyone in the industry knows his boyfriend,” she tweeted. “Allegedly.”
The White House also responded to Noah’s routine.
“And Trevor Noah is still a giant loser who will be forever known for being unceremoniously kicked off The Daily Show for being a complete psychopath, only to be replaced by a rotating cast of even bigger snowflakes,” White House Communications Director Steven Cheung wrote on X.
